How to Install a Custom Font in Snapchat

Step by Step Guide

Introduction:

Snapchat has become one of the most popular platforms for sharing quick, creative moments with friends and followers. While the app offers several built-in fonts, many users want something more unique to match their personal style. If you’re tired of using the same default fonts and want to stand out with custom text on your snaps, this guide is for you. Below, we’ll walk you through a simple, step-by-step process to install and use a custom font in Snapchat.

Bored of Snapchat’s same old fonts? Here’s how I got a custom font working on my Snap captions it’s not built into the app directly, but there’s a workaround.

Step 1: Update Snapchat First

Before doing anything else, update Snapchat to the latest version. I tried this on an older version once and it just wouldn’t pick up the new font at all

Step 2: Grab the Font You Like

Find a .ttf or .otf font file online there are tons of free font sites out there. Download it to your phone.

Step 3: Install It on Your Phone

  • Android: Head to Settings > Display > Font Style > Add Font, then pick your downloaded file.
  • iPhone: You’ll need a font manager app (something like “Fonts” from the App Store works fine) to install it properly.

Step 4: Jump into Snapchat

Open the camera, snap a pic or record a video, then hit the “T” icon to add text.

Step 5: Switch the Font

Tap the “Aa” icon above your keyboard. If everything installed right, your new font should show up in the list  just tap it.

Step 6: Tweak and Post

Move your text around, change the color if you want, then post it like normal.

One thing to keep in mind  Snapchat doesn’t always fully support every custom font, since it also depends on how your phone handles fonts system-wide. So if a font doesn’t show up, it’s probably not Snapchat’s fault.
